Monticello Safety & HU Fair fun, educational

Station employees began their recent Safety & Human Performance Fair with a brisk walk! Taking the 1.6 mile path to the Training Center was a great way to get our minds ready to think only about safety and human performance issues and appreciate the changing landscape that autumn brings to Minnesota. About 800 pieces of beef jerky and numerous cases of water kept walkers hydrated and energized along the way.

At the fair, 300 employees challenged their knowledge on tagging, snap circuits, nuclear jeopardy, snap circuits and concurrent verification. The Flow Loop simulator was used for workers to identify procedure deviations and human performance triggers. Vendors provided ample demos and giveaways.

A delicious picnic luncheon, and more than 60 prizes awarded topped off a really fun event.

There were lots of laughs over the “procedure violations” set up in the flow loop simulator that blended education and fun for everyone.
