November 2024 – IdeaScale Update
Innovation is about improving efficiency, reducing costs and improving our lives at work. We need to be responsible public stewards by keeping our costs as low as we reasonably can. Improving our efficiency and effectiveness contribute to our ability to produce safe, reliable energy for our members. Reliability improvements help move us out of crisis mode and into a situation where we have the time to properly address our most pressing issues.
Workplace innovation and continuous improvement are deeply intertwined. Innovation involves introducing new or improved methodologies, challenging traditional thinking. Continuous improvement focuses on fostering an environment where innovation can grow, encouraging a mindset of constant learning and adaptation. Together, they create a cycle that propels organizations forward, creating a healthy environment for the development and refinement of innovative ideas.
Our two most recent Innovation Hub campaigns, Outage Improvements and Digitize our Routine Processes were a great success! We received 11 ideas from the Outage improvements campaign and 16 suggestions for our Digitize our Routine Processes campaign. Many thanks to those of you who suggested ideas or commented on the ideas of others.
“It is my belief that innovation may be the single biggest driver of long-term success of any organization, as without innovation an organization loses its ability to remain competitive.” – Bret Walden, Energy Northwest.
