Happy Holidays to our USA members, supply chain partners and staff! It has been another great year at USA providing simple, cost-effective excellence to our members and our supply chain partners! Below is a quick re-cap of the Nuclear Safety Culture Assessments (NSCA) and Mid-Cycle Self- Assessments (MCSA) we supported in 2024 and what we have scheduled for 2025. As you can see, we had a very busy year in 2024 and expect the same in 2025- thanks for all of your support! If you would like to participate in an NSCA, please let me know or contact your USA Site Representative. Participating in an NSCA is an outstanding developmental opportunity for individual contributors, supervisors and managers to immerse themselves in the Ten Traits of a Healthy Nuclear Safety Culture. In addition, MCSAs are a great opportunity to get folks from your stations out in the industry to see how other stations are doing things and to bring ideas back to their home stations.

2024

• NSCAs – River Bend, PSEG, Oak Ridge National Lab, Xcel Energy, Cooper, Paragon, STP, Fermi, Columbia and Palisades (Survey Only)
• MCSAs – Monticello, Columbia, Cook, Comanche Peak, Wolf Creek, Palo Verde, Fermi and STP

• NSCAs – Wolf Creek, Cook, Comanche Peak, Sequoyah, TVA Fleet Center, Susquehanna, Watts Bar, Browns Ferry
• MCSAs – Beaver Valley, Diablo Canyon, Cooper, Prairie Island, Susquehanna and Perry

The other item I wanted to provide an update on is our Core Peer Team Deep Dive process that we implemented in 2024 through the Team Oversight and Function Process. We have six Core Peer Teams (Operations, Maintenance, Outage Excellence, On-line Work Management, Engineering and Training) that we conduct an annual deep dive for. The intent of our deep dives is to identify potential common areas that as an alliance we can work together to improve, to share operating experience and lessons learned and to identify any help needed. In 2024 we identified a common issue through our deep dive process around equipment reliability that we plan to work together on in 2025- more to follow as the project develops.
