Significant employee engagement and strong leadership involvement in industrial safety has contributed to improved performance through management engagement of workers to understand industrial safety risk perception at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant (CPNPP). Themes of “Safety- Quality-Schedule in that order” remind employees that management values their well-being over production and “Why I work safe” campaign reminds employees of the personal impact of accidents. Employee driven observation program emphasize intervention and correction of behaviors. These improvements have resulted in a significant reduction in OSHA- recordable injuries over the last two years and no OSHA-recordable injuries in the last two refueling outages.
