Michael Pattan, security training specialist; Steven Cooper, fire marshal senior; and Kelley Ferrantelli, recruiter, attended the third annual Washington state Service Member for Life Transition Summit and Career Fair at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Tacoma, Wash. The summit brought together key federal and state agencies, influential military leaders, innovators in the business and employer community, and local community leaders with transitioning service members, veterans, and their families.

At our nation’s capital
Bob Schuetz, plant general manager; Kevin Van Speybroeck, computer engineering manager; and Steve English, safeguards and compliance specialist, attended the Veterans in Energy Leadership Summit in Washington D.C.
Veterans in Energy is a new national initiative with the goal of providing transition, retention and professional development support to military veterans working in the energy industry. The summit included leaders from the energy industry and the federal government discussing actions that have been taken around the country to support veterans transitioning from military service into the energy industry.

“The summits provided EN employees the opportunity to share their best practices on a successful transition from a military career into a career in the energy industry,” Ferrantelli said.

Between the two events EN employees reached more than 2,000 service members, veterans and military spouses.
